The Elks TITLE: Live 1977 CAT #: JH013 DATE: November 2006 PRICE: $20.00 I played guitar with The Elks from mid 1976 to around April 1978. I've always thought that it was the best "Classic" Chicago Blues band that Australia has produced. Not that much of it was down to me, it was just a very strong outfit. Dave Brewer and I meshed well on guitars. Dave, together with both Reg and Ivan Zar, gave the band incredible resources of deep blues knowledge, which allowed us to develop an authenticity I've not heard since. This performance, which was previously released on a cassette, is a classic. Terry Serio is in fine form as the frontman. The tapes have been sitting in various cardboard boxes since 1977. In the absence of any efforts from other former Elks' group members, I decided to put out this limited edition on my own label. Due to being known around 78 Records as "The Forgotten Elk", I also decided to put my own picture on the cover!
